How do you deal with stress?
Does it encourage you to give your all, or do you feel paralysed and anxious? Stress is a hot topic, especially among students. Frequently mentioned sources of stress are studies, personal or financial problems and worries about the future (e.g. housing, climate, etc.).

The good news? You can influence some of the stress factors you experience. This training course gives you insight and tools to better deal with your (study) stress.

Manage your (study) stress in an effective way

Stress is part of life. It makes us run for our lives when in physical danger, and it gives us that extra bit of energy to cram for our exams. However, chronic stress can cause problems.  This training course is based on questions such as: What do we mean by stress? What causes stress? How can these causes be dealt with? How can you deal with your own stress?

You will learn to recognise negative, self-undermining thoughts and how to think more constructively. You will also learn how to utilise your strengths, set priorities, and apply relaxation techniques.

The goal is to provide you with the insights and tools needed to manage your stress effectively.

1. Your relation with stress

During this meeting, you will take a close look at your relationship with stress. What does stress mean to you? How do you cope with stress? And how do your coping strategies affect your life?

2. Root cause of your stress

What causes your stress? We will examine how your thoughts and beliefs influence stress.

3. Dealing with negative emotions

How do you deal with negative emotions and tension? How can you cope with negative emotions, tensions and stress without letting them overwhelm you?

4. Psychological flexibility

The last meeting is about integrating thoughts, emotions and behaviour. You handle setbacks with more self-confidence. You may bend, but do not break easily under pressure. You gain psychological flexibility.
